Matthew Pattom

Matthew Pattom is a licensed Professional Engineer and energy efficiency specialist with more than 18 years of experience in industrial mechanical systems. He holds the U.S. Department of Energy Data Center Energy Practitioner (DCEP) certification in both the Generalist and HVAC Specialist tracks.

His engineering background spans high-pressure refrigeration systems, turbomachinery, pumping systems, and pressure energy recovery, giving him a strong thermodynamic foundation across mechanical and thermal systems. He holds an MBA from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State, and a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras.

Jorge A. Gil

Jorge A. Gil is the Founder of SERESDC, Training Developer and Data Center Instructor, with 20 years of professional experience in Data Center Facilities, Energy Efficiency and Systems Reliability, and 35 years of combined experience with designing/sizing/managing IT Systems/High-Performance Computing, Telecommunications and Disaster Recovery solutions

He is a Full Program Instructor of the DOE DCEP program (Modules: Generalist, IT Specialist, HVAC Specialist, Electrical Specialist). DOE Data Center Energy Practitioner (Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory):

As a Researcher, Mr. Gil has contributed to the Data Center Industry with Data Center methods and metrics that measure the IT Load Power/Space Utilization (IT Room Utilization -ITRU), and authored a Scale that measure the Impact and Depth of Downtime in Data Centers (Downtime Severity Levels - DSL). He also developed a Site Location Risk Index that can assess geo-located threats and data center mitigation infrastructure. Mr. Gil has been invited as speaker at various international conferences including, Data Center & AI Infrastructure Conferences, OCP – Open Compute Project Global Summit & FTS, Disaster Recovery Journal Conferences, Anixter Conferences, IBM events, among others.

His most recent contribution is a classification method to standardize “Rack Densities Categories in the age of AI” (Published in 7x24Exchange Magazine Fall 2025).

Paul Bemis

As the President and CEO of Applied Math Modeling, Paul Bemis brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team with over 30 years of involvement in the high technology market. Paul's unique background and education (UNH Mechanical Engineering degree, with Northeastern Electrical and Business graduate degrees), provides an exceptional basis for the pursuit of new and creative ways to solve complex engineering simulation problems.

While at Apollo Computer Inc. and Hewlett Packard Inc., Paul was heavily involved in the development and market success of high performance RISC (Reduced Instruction Set Computer) based multiprocessor systems used in markets ranging from high energy physics to automotive and aerospace design.

His subsequent move into the software industry as the Vice President of Marketing for both ANSYS and Fluent continued to expand his knowledge of markets and opportunities in the engineering simulation marketplace. Today Paul is applying all of his experience and knowledge to the CoolSim product lines, which works to break the ease-of-use and cost barriers of CFD-based modeling in the Data Center design and analysis market.
